Buckhannon, W.Va. -- The Edinboro women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to host West Virginia Wesleyan Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Bobcats swept the doubles matches to claim the point with the Scot tandum of Johanna Predite and
Cecilia Carayol forcing a tiebreaker at number on singles before falling to Dominique Jansen and Sneha Sundaraneedi 7-6.
Lara Senar scored a win for the Scots playing number five singles. She topped Cayley Symons 7-5, 6-2.
Jansen defeated Predite in the top singles match 6-4, 6-3. Carayol dropped a 6-1, 7-6 decision to Omolade Aderemi.
Luciana Ponce took the first set 6-2, but Sundaraneedi rallied winning the next two sets 6-1, 6-3.
Rafaella Almeida lost 6-3, 6-1 to Hailey Banda at number four and Emily Lybarger topped Marina Zottelle 6-2 in the first set before Zottelle retired in the second.
The Scots are back in action on Friday at Fairmont State. Match time is set for 3 p.m.
