Altamonte Springs, Fla. -- The Edinboro men's tennis team saw their season come to an end in the first round of the NCAA Championships with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 seed Flagler Tuesday monring in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
The Saints eanred the doubles points with the top flight pair of Philipp Lemken and Simon Malis scoring a 6-0 win over
Bruno Sabio and
Rocco Palombarini. Flagler secured the doubles point with a 6-2 decision from Max Berner and Jacopo Denitto over
Thibault Dorval and
Stanislas Noel. Gordan Mileusnic and
Fabricio Sosa Pons were leading 5-3 before the doubles point was clinched.
Baptiste Mercier notched the first singles point for the Saints with a 6-1, 6-0 victroy over Mileusnic. Ilian Borlee defeated
Thomas Buchard at number four 6-0, 6-2 to make it 3-0 and Denitto clinched the win for Flagler defeating Sabio 6-1, 6-3 at number one singles.Â
The Scots finished the seaosn 16-8 overall winning their fourth straight PSAC title and advancing to the NCAA Championships for the second time in three seasons.
