Edinboro, Pa. – Diamond Weaver has been added to the Edinboro football staff as the Defensive Backs Coach.
Weaver joins the Fighting Scots after spending the last five seasons at Division I Stony Brook as the cornerbacks coach. In his time at Stony Brook, Weaver mentored Gavin Heslop who spent time in the NFL with both the Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns.
"We are excited to welcome Diamond to the Boro," said head coach
Jake Nulph. "He brings energy, passion and wealth of experience across all levels of football."
Prior to his time at Stony Brook, Weaver was the cornerbacks coach for Maine. During that season, the Black Bears were the CAA top total defense and were sixth nationally in interceptions.
Weaver also had a stint with the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League. Before that he spent a season coaching receivers at Pace after spending three seasons at Rhode Island.
One of Weaver's greatest professional development experiences came in the summer of 2016 when he spent time as an intern with the Pittsburgh Steelers, assisting during the organization's training camp and preseason as part of the National Football League's (NFL) Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship.
