He was the first PSAC player to record 20 tackles since 2017 and the most by a PSAC player since Kutztown's Brian Bingnear on Nov. 10, 2007. Diaz is currently Division II's leading tackler.

Playing Up
For the second consecutive season, Edinboro will play up against an FCS opponent. Last year the Scots opened the season at Duquesne.

All-Purpose Back
Jerry Dinkins III was a weapon in both the rushing and passing attacks as well as in the return game for the Scots. He finished the day with 159 all-purpose yards which currently ranks 11th in the nation after Week 0. He had 47 yards on the ground, made seven catches for 68 yards and then had two kick returns for 44 yards.

Special Teams
The Scot special teams had a strong opener. Reed Martin picked up right where he left off last season punting three times with an average of 51.7 yards per punt. He landed two punts inside the 20 and completed one pass for 24 yards on a fake punt. Martin also handled the kickoff duties taking two of his four kicks go for touchbacks. Brayden Lambert converted both of his field goal attempts in the season opener.

Turnover Margin
The Scots will look to close the gap on the turnover margin after turning the ball over three times in the opener and not forcing the Warriors into a turnover. The Scots forced 15 turnovers a year ago while committing 20.
Edinboro had a solid game on third down against the Warriors. They were 7-of-15 converting third downs and were 2-of-3 on fourth down conversions.

Keeping it Clean
The Scots committed just three penalties in the season opener for 40 yards a stark contrast to the 2023 season opener where they committed 11 penalties for 85 yards.

Mrvos Returns
After missing last season, Nico Mrvos hauled in four catches for 41 yards in the season opener.

Seasons First Touchdown
Bo Swartz scored the first Fighting Scot touchdown of the season rushing in from two-yards out in the fourth quarter against East Stroudsburg.
