Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro men's wrestling team scored a dominant 46-4 victory over visiting Gannon Friday night inside McComb Fieldhouse.
The Scots came out scoring early and often picking up bonus points in eight of nine victories on the night.
Chris Vargo started the barrage for the Scots scoring a 17-2 tech fall over Kenny Schmitz with 19 seconds left in the first period.
Landon Bainey followed that at 133 with a 9-3 decision over Carter Beck extending the team lead to 8-0.
Jacob Brenneman built a 12-0 lead in the first and scored a takedown 44 seconds into the second period to claim a 15-0 tech fall or Luke Mentzer.
Ryan Michaels scored a tech of his own over Kenny Kiser 22-7 at the 6:48 mark of the match. At 157,
Garrett McChesney used 6:06 to score his tech fall 19-4 over Caleb Butterfield making the score 23-0 Edinboro at the intermission.
Ryan Burgos started the second half of the dual with a jolt pinning Christian Scheller in just 52 seconds.
Tate Geiser put up the fifth Fighting Scot tech fall of the night 20-5 over Dillon Walker in 6:04.
Jared McGill wasted no time scoring a fall of Kellen Buggey in 51 seconds. At 197,
Brody Evans also picked up a first period fall in 1:30 over Gaetano Savelli. At 285, Gannon's Dorian Crosby notched a 15-3 major decision over
Aden Roe.
The Scots return to action on Saturday when they travel to Pitt for a 2 p.m. dual with the Panthers inside Fitzgerald Fieldhouse.
