Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team fell 23-10 to visiting Central Michigan Friday night inside McComb Fieldhouse.

Chris Vargo opened the night with a 4-1 decision over Grant Stahl. After a scoreless first, Vargo scored an escape to take a 1-0 lead after two. Stahl escaped in the third and sent the match to sudden victory. Vargo scored a take down 1:25 into sudden victory to take the decision.

After a scoreless first period, Sean Spidle rode out
Colton Camacho in the second. Spidle scored an escape to open the third and used the riding time point to grab a 2-0 decision.

Andrew Austin used a first period takedown of
Anthony Ferraro to build a 3-1 lead at the end of the first. Austin chose bottom and scored a reversal and two near-fall points to push the lead to 7-1. Ferraro escaped before the end of the second to cut the lead to 7-2. Ferraro started the third with an escape, but an Austin takedown pushed the Central Michigan wrestler to a 10-3 decision.

Mason Shrader got to his offense early against
Colin Roberts using a total of six takedowns to score the 19-4 tech fall in 5:41.

The offense was on full display as
Ryan Burgos took on Johnny Lovett at 157. Lovett jumped out to a 9-3 lead after two periods. Lovett extended the lead to 11-3 with a reversal to start the third. Burgos escaped and scored a take down to trim the lead to 11-7. Lovett escaped to make it 12-7 before Burgos scored a takedown and looked to be poised for back points. An official review proved inconclusive, and Lovett escaped with a 13-10 decision.

Max Kirby scored a first period takedown of Chandler Amaker and made that takedown stand up for a 4-2 decision snapping the Chippewas run of victories.

After a scoreless first period between
Brody Evans and Alex Cramer, it was Cramer that opened the scoring with an escape. He added takedown to make it 4-0. Cramer was hit with two stall calls making it 4-1 heading to the third. Evans escaped 25 seconds into the third to cut the lead to 4-2. Another stall point made it 4-3, but Evans couldn't find a takedown falling 5-3 after Cramer picked up the riding time point.

Jared McGill picked up bonus points for the second night in a row with a 10-2 major decision over Cody Brenner. McGill scored a takedown 1:18 into the bout and rode out the first period. He picked up a reversal and four near-fall points to go up 9-0 in the second. Brenner scored an escape in the second and another in the third to cut the lead to 9-2. The riding time points pushed McGill to the major decision.

Nick Lodato found himself trailing Luke Cochran 8-2 early in the second period. He escaped with 58 seconds left in the second and then scored a takedown in the closing seconds to cut the gap to 9-6. An escape and takedown gave Lodato a 10-8 lead. Cochran scored a reversal to tie the match and pushed his riding time over a minute. Lodato escaped with one second left to force sudden victory after the riding time point. With 1:11 gone in sudden victory Cochran found a takedown for the 14-11 decision.

The final bout of the night also went to sudden victory.
Kade Sottolano and Bryan Caves were knotted at 1-1 at the end of regulation. Caves scored the takedown with just 29 seconds left in sudden victory to close out the dual with a 4-1 decision.
The Scots are back in action next Friday when they host Rider on Senior Night. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
