Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro softball team dropped a pair of contests to Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon.
The Scots dropped the opener 5-4 before falling 11-5 in the night cap.
Game One
Slippery Rock got out to an early lead in the opening contest. Alexsa Hurd hit a two-run homer in the top of the first inning.
The Rock extended the lead in the second when Julia Nutter scored on a wild pitch. Hurd hit a solo home run in the third to make it 4-0. Emma Kennedy singled home Julia Montie to push the lead to 5-0 in the third.
Edinboro answered in the bottom of the fifth.

Abigail Olejniczak to cut the lead to 5-2. In the bottom of the seventh,
Ashley Rose led off with a hit by pitch.
Abbe Sito belted a two-run homer to cut the lead to 5-4. The Scots put runners on first and second, but Edinboro couldn't push across the tying run.
Cassidy Weller tallied a pair of hits for the Scots. Maguire and Sito each had a home run and two RBIs.
Annalise Smith took the loss in the circle going 4.2 innings, allowing one run on one hit with three walks.
Game Two
The Rock got out fast again in the second contest scoring five times in the top of the first capped by a two-run homer from Julia Nutter.
Aubrey Mansfield made it 7-0 Rock with a two-run double in the top of the second. The Scots got on the board in the bottom of the inning when Sito singled home
Emalie Thomas.
Slippery Rock scored once in the third and twice in the fourth to extend the lead to 10-1. Rose trimmed the lead with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fourth.

Hilary Sissem in the bottom of the fifth to stave off the run rule cutting the lead to 10-7.
Shaylyn Shall extended the lead back to 11-3 with an RBI double in the seventh. In the bottom of the inning, Sissem recorded an RBI infield single and later scored on an
Isabelle Bavaro single to set the final.
Sissem finished the game 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Bavaro and Thomas each added a pair of hits for the Scots.
Grace Kessell took the loss in the circle allowing five runs in 0.1 innings of work. Smith finished out the game allowing six runs on nine hits in 6.2 innings pitched with four strikeouts.
