Bloomsburg, Pa. -- The Edinboro men's tennis team scored a 5-0 win over Kutztown Friday afternoon to advance to the PSAC Championship match.
The Scots swept the doubles action with Noel Stanislas and
Mathis Amsellem scoring a 6-1 victory over Dang Nguyen and Henrique Rocha.
Fabricio Sosa Pons and
Leon Grassnickel defeated Emmitt Robinson and Linus Vennekold 6-4 and
Thomas Buchard and
Gerardo Garrido Guzman finishing the sweep with a 6-3 win over Joaquin Perez and Terrell Arejola 6-3.
Amsellem scored 6-0, 6-0 win over Nikita Safonov at number two to make it 2-0 Edinboro. Noel extended the lead to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Nguyen.
Thomas Buchard was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at number three singles over Rocha.
Arsen Tabaldyev finshed at nearly the same time 6-1, 6-4 at number five to end the match with the score 5-0.
The Scots advanced to the PSAC Championship match against Bloomsburg. The match started at 9:30 p.m. Friday night and was suspended due to weather with the Scots up 1-0 after sweeping the doubles action. Singles play will resume at 10 a.m.
