Men’s Tennis Scores Pair of PSAC Victories

Kutztown, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team scored a pair of PSAC wins over hosts Kutztown and Lock Haven Friday and Saturday.
 
Against Kutztown, the Scots swept the doubles matches with Leon Grassnickel and Emil Tidman defeating Dang Nguyen and Henrique Racha 6-2 at number one doubles. Arsen Tabaldyev and Hassan Ammar won 6-3 over Joaquin Perz and Terrell Arejala at number two and at number three Fabricio Sosa Pons and Duarte Correia were 6-4 winners.
 
The Scots were also a perfect 6-0 in singles action. Grassnickel topped Nguyen 6-2, 6-1 at the top flight singles. Pons defeated Racha 6-1, 6-2 at number two. At number three, Correia scored a 7-6, 7-6 victory over Patrick Young.
 
Tidman was a 6-3, 6-3 winner  at number four over Perez. Tabaldyev defeated Emmitt Robinson 7-5, 6-3. Ammar closed out the match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Arejala.
 
Against the Huskies, the Scots dropped the top flight singles. Tabaldyev and Ammar teamed up for a 6-2 victory over Jack Seaborn and Jaime Soria at number two. Pons and Duarte secured the doubles point for the Scots winning 7-5 over Landon Wall and Alejandro Higurea.
 
Tabldyev and Ammar were straight set winners at number five and six with scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-3.
 
Pons dropped the first set 1-6 but rallied winning sets two and three 6-2, 6-1 to score the win at number two. Correia also fell in the first set 2-6, but came back with scores of 6-1 and 6-4 over Jack Seaborn at number three. Tidman scored the final singles point in the Scots 6-1 win with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 victory over Soria.
 
The Scots return to action on Friday when they travel to Jefferson College for a PSAC matchup with the Rams.
