2014
Earned All-American honors with a 15^th place finish at the Division II National Championships (31:05.5)… An All-Region honoree for the fourth time after placing eighth at the Atlantic Regional Championships with a time of 32:38.0… Became a three-time All-PSAC runner when he placed third in the PSAC Championships, finishing in a time of 24:43.8 in the 8K course… His finish at nationals and the conference championship were his highest career finishes at the respective events… Finished fifth in the spring at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:02.33… Matt ran a personal best of 30:27.29 for 10,000 meters at the Penn Relays for a NCAA Division II provisional national qualifying mark...  That time was the 33rd best time in NCAA Division II in 2014… Matt also ran a provisional national qualifying mark of 14:33.20 for 5000 meters at the Bison Outdoor Classic... That was the 37^th fastest 5000 meters in Division in 2014...  Matt also ran 4:04.06 for 1500 meters at the Bob Kahn Invite and finished in first place… Earned USTFCCA All-Academic honors… Became a five-time Edinboro Scholar-Athlete.

2013
Paced the way for the Fighting Scots throughout the season as he finished just five seconds from All-American honors with a 44^th place finish (31.23.0)… Earned All-PSAC and All-Region honors finishing sixth (25:42.4) at the PSAC Championships and fourth (30:45.8) at the Atlantic Regional Championships… It was the second time he earned All-PSAC honors and third time earning All-Region honors… Placed third at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 5,000 meter run (15:04.88)… Matt ran a season’s best of 15:00:00 at the Bison Outdoor Classic… Matt also ran 9:02.34 for 3000 meters at the Sparky Adams Invitational...  Matt ran a season’s best of 4:07.84 at the Bob Kahn Invite. 2012
Earned All-PSAC honors for the first time in his career and All-Region honors for the second time… Placed seventh (31:33.1) at the Atlantic Regional Championships following a sixth (25:54.1) placement at the PSAC Championships… Finished 69^th (30:57.5) at the Division II National Championships…  Matt posted a mark of 9:29.90 for the 3000 meters steeplechase at the Bison Outdoor Classic…  He also ran 4:06.24 for the 1500 meters at the Bob Kahn invite as well as 8:49.56 for 3000 meters at the Sparky Anderson Invitational… Finished the 3,000 meters steeplechase in sixth place at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 9:30.13. 2011
Finished one spot shy of All-PSAC honors finishing 21^st (25:37.2) at the PSAC Championships… Earned All-Region honors by placing 21^st (33:18.0) at the Atlantic Regional Championship… Also placed 119^th (33:49.5) at the Division II National Championship… Matt ran 15:16.89 for 5000 meters at the University of North Florida Spring Break Invitational…  He also set a season’s best of 32:43.81 for the 10,000 meters at the Bison Outdoor Classic…  Matt also made his steeple debut in 10:02.05 at the Sparky Adams Invite...  Competed in the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and placed 24^th in the 10,000 meter run (33:25.17). HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Avon Lake High School in Avon Lake, Ohio… four-year letterwinner in Cross Country and Track & Field… was Conference Champion as a senior in Cross Country, earned All-Conference honors as a sophomore, junior, and senior, and also All-Conference in Track as a junior… Set the school record in the 5K (15:41).
