Qualified for Nationals for third time, and second as a Fighting Scot while moving up to 165 lbs… finished with a 20-9 record with 5 falls, 3 technical falls, and 4 major decisions … earned trip to Nationals with a second place finish at EWL Championships … lost to fifth-ranked Chad Walsh of Rider, 9-5, in the finals … went on to go 2-2 at Nationals … picked up win in first match, a 5-2 decision over Cole Walter of Lehigh, before losing by fall in the first period to Walsh, the fifth seed … advanced with a 10-1 major decision over South Dakota State’s Luke Zilverberg, before being eliminated by first-period fall by Brandon Womack of Cornell, the 13th seed … finished fourth at the Las Vegas Invitational, going 4-2 … upset 12th-ranked Keaton Subjeck of Stanford, 7-3, before losing to second ranked Isaac Jordan of Wisconsin … picked up another over a ranked wrestler with 7-5 win in sudden victory over Cornell’s Brandon Womack in the consolation semifinals … dropped a 7-2 decision to Branson Ashworth of Wyoming in the third place match … was third at the Southeast Open, defeating 17th-ranked Forrest Przybysz of Appalachian State, 8-2, in the consolation finals … picked up biggest win of the year against seventh-ranked Chandler Rogers of Oklahoma State, prevailing by fall at 3:47.
2015-16
After missing over a year following knee surgery, returned to the mat in January and proceeded to qualify for Nationals for the second time at 157 lbs. … finished the year with a 12-6 record with three falls and four major decisions … was ranked 14th by InterMat and WIN Magazine, 15th by FloWrestling, and 17th by TheOpenMat.com and WrestlingReport.com … went 2-2 at Nationals while seeded 14th … lost his first match by decision before winning twice, a 9-2 decision over Kamaal Shakur of Chattanooga and a win by fall at 4:51 over 13th-seed Edwin Cooper of Iowa … was eliminated by fifth-seeded Dylan Palacio of Cornell, 12-6 … won his second EWL title, and first as a Fighting Scot, with an impressive upset of number one seed and 15th-ranked Chad Walsh of Rider, winning a 17-6 major decision … won his three matches by fall and two major decisions … five of his six losses were to nationally-ranked wrestlers.
2014-15
Got off to a fast start as a Fighting Scot, winning his first nine matches before going down with a season-ending knee injury in mid-November … ended the year with a 9-0 record with two falls and three major decisions … climbed to fourth in TheOpenMat.com and seventh in InterMat’s rankings before going down … began Edinboro career with a first place finish at the Clarion Open, winning a 9-0 major decision over Cal Poly’s Colt Shorts in the finals … posted a 6-0 decision over eighth-ranked Luke Smith of Central Michigan, along with an 8-6 decision over tenth-ranked Brian Murphy of Michigan.
AT CLARION
Earned a trip to Nationals as a true freshman after winning the EWL championship at 157 lbs. with a 9-6 decision over Edinboro’s Johnny Greisheimer … was named the EWL and PSAC Freshman of the Year … ended the year with a 23-9 record with 6 falls, 2 technical falls and 4 major decisions … went 1-2 at Nationals, losing by fall to sixth-seeded Nestor Taffur of Boston University before pinning Chattanooga’s Alex Hudson in 55 seconds … was eliminated by Luke Smith of Central Michigan 11-2 …entered Nationals ranked 17th by InterMat and 18th by The Open Mat … took second place at 157 lbs. at the PSAC Championships, losing to Greisheimer 9-8 in the finals.
HIGH SCHOOL
Wrestled for the fabled Reynolds High School team, posting a 174-17 record in four years as a starter … a four-time PIAA place-winner, capping his career by winning the state championship at 152 lbs. as a senior after finishing as a runner-up the previous two years … finished the year with a 49-1 record … won a 4-2 decision over Coundersport’s Kyle Bova in the finals … won the Northwest Regional and District 10 championships … as a junior was 48-2 and placed second at 138 lbs., dropping an 11-8 decision to Mikey Racciato of Penn Argyl in the finals … won his third Northwest Regional title … in 2011 placed second at 140 lbs., dropping an 8-0 major decision to Travis Shaeffer of Derry Area in the championship bout … ended the year with a 44-5 record and won the Northwest Regional title … competed at 130 lbs. as a freshman, earning a trip to the state championships after winning his first Northwest Regional crown … placed eighth at the PIAA Class AA championships … competed in the Dapper Dan Classic as a member of the Pennsylvania team.
