Posted an 18-5 record while competing at 157 lbs… had one fall, 6 technical falls and 2 major decisions … captured second place at the Southeast Open (freshman & sophomore division) and the Edinboro Open, and took home third place finishes in the Michigan State Open and Cleveland State Open … went 6-1 at Michigan State Open, losing his second round match, then running off five straight wins. 

2015-16
Redshirted, finishing with an 11-10 record while competing in open tournaments at 157 lbs. … had 4 major decisions … went 3-2 at EMU Open, and 2-2 at Clarion Open, Mat Town Open, CSU Open, and Edinboro Open.

HIGH SCHOOL
Was a three-time New York state qualifier and two-time finalist while wrestling for head coach Jon Hoover at Lewiston-Porter High School … also worked with former Edinboro assistant Kyle Cerminara … had a 205-32 career record … was second at the NYSPHSAA Division II State Championships at 152 lbs. as a senior, dropping a 5-1 decision to Frank Garcia of Norwich in the finals … ended the year with a 52-2 record while the District 6 title … as a junior, placed second at 145 lbs., falling to Alex Herringshaw of Holland Patent in the finals, after winning the District 6 championship … had a 48-8 record … was 49-3 as a sophomore, qualifying for the state championships at 113 lbs.

Born February 20, 1997 … Criminal Justice major with a 3.07 GPA … son of Christina Shomers and Andrew Shomers … has one brother (Frank) ... an Edinboro Scholar-Athlete.
