Played a key role in the secondary as a true freshman, playing in all 11 games with three starts … finished with 33 tackles, including 17 solo … broke up 3 passes, along with intercepting a pass and recovering a fumble … had a season-high 8 tackles, including 5 solo, vs. Gannon, along with recording his first career interception and breaking up a pair of passes … had 7 stops at Lock Haven and recovered a fumble vs. Cheyney.

Played for head coach Mark Lyons at Central Valley High School … was a three-year letterwinner in football … as a senior, earned first team All-Parkway Conference honors at free safety, and was an honorable mention all-state selection, along with being named Defensive Player of the Year on team … the Warriors won 2015 Parkway Conference championship and were the 2015 WPIAL Class AAA Championship runner-up … team was 11-2, losing to Thomas Jefferson, 20-7, in WPIAL finals to end 11-game winning streak … beat Mars, 48-41, in semifinals … caught 18 passes for 267 yards, a 14.8 yard average, with 2 TDs … on defense, totaled 97 tackles (41 solo, 56 asts.), with 6 INTs for 161 yards and 1 TD … had 28 passes defensed, 2 fumble recoveries, a fumble caused, and blocked 2 field goals … in 2014, Central Valley finished with a 15-1 record, winning the WPIAL championship, 35-28 over West Allegheny, then beating Conneaut Area, 52-23, in PIAA Class AAA quarterfinals and defeating Bishop McDevitt, 26-21, in semifinals, before losing to Archbishop Wood, 33-14, in PIAA Class AAA championship game … finished with 32 solo tackles and 27 assists for 59 total tackles … Warriors were 2014 WPIAL and Parkway Conference champions … in 2013, Central Valley was 11-2 and finished as WPIAL runners up …in basketball, started at point guard as senior, averaging 10 points per game.

Born June 2, 1998 … Health & Physical Education major with a minor in Coaching … son of Melina and Michael Sims Sr. … has two brothers (Michael Jr. and Montel) … father was a standout defensive back at Edinboro and was inducted into the Edinboro Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009 and brother Michael Jr. was a member of the men’s basketball team … cousin Jordan Whitehead played football at the Univ. of Pittsburgh and was the 2015 ACC Freshman of the Year, and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
