Edinboro All-Time Wrestling Team

A total of 20 former wrestlers were selected to the Edinboro All-Time Team during the 2006-2007 academic year. The group is highlighted by two of Edinboro’s Division I national champions. Josh Koscheck is Edinboro’s lone four-time All-American, and captured the national championship at 174 lbs. in 2001. He finished with a 128-17 career record, including 42-0 in ’71. Sean O’Day was Edinboro’s first Division I national champion, winning the 134 lb. title 1989. He was a three-time All-American, going 116-23-2 for his career.

The team also includes three wrestlers who won national championships while competing on the Division II level and one NAIA national champion. Leading the way is heavyweight Dean Hall, who was the Division II titlist in 1986, then went on to finish fourth at the Division I nationals that year. He finish as a three-time All-American on the Division I level. Mike Hahesy, currently an assistant coach with the Fighting Scots, won the Division II championship in 1985 at 158 lbs., and was the runner-up in 1986. Matt Furey was a two-time Division II All-American, winning the national championship in 1985. Tom Herr was the NAIA heavyweight national champion in 1973.

Two other wrestlers achieved All-American honors three times. Jason Robison competed at 190 lbs., with his highest finish second place at 190 lbs. in 1998. Tom Shifflet is also a three-time All-American, all at 142 lbs.

Six other wrestlers on the All-Time Team earned All-American accolades twice. Most recently it was Shawn Bunch, who finished as the national runner-up at 133 lbs. in 2005 and was third in 2006. Tony Robie also narrowly missed capturing a national title, finishing second at 158 lbs. in 1997 after a fifth place finish in 1995. Lou Rosselli, Terry Kennedy, Matt King, and David Ray also earned All-American recognition twice, with Ray a split Division I/Division II All-American.
