Played for head coach Jim Wells at nearby General McLane High School … was a two-year starter and three-year letterwinner in football, along with earning three letters in track and a letter in basketball … helped the Lancers finish with a 9-3 record as a senior in 2012, rushing for 925 yards on 100 carries with 12 TDs, adding 8 receptions for 98 yards, and completed 4 of 5 passes for 207 yards, with 3 TDs … on defense, had 38 tackles with an interception and three fumbles recovered … scored a total of 13 TDs … earned All-Region honors at running back and defensive back as a senior … as a junior, ran for 212 yards on 17 carries with 5 TDs, and had 31 tackles with 3 INTs, scoring 6 TDs in all … the Lancers were 10-3 in 2011, losing to Hickory in the District 10 Class AA championship game … finished fifth in the pole vault at the District 10 Track & Field Championships in 2012.
