High School:  A three-year starter for head coach Bill Brest at Hickory High School … Hornets were 26-9 over that period with one District 10 championship and two District 10 championship appearances … as a senior helped the Hornets to an 11-2 record, defeating General McLane in the District 10 Championship before losing to Tyrone … as a senior led team with 22 receptions for 480 yards, a 21.8 yard average, with 5 TDs … added 323 yards rushing on 35 carries, a 9.2 yard average, with 2 TDs … also had 6 interceptions, returning for two for touchdowns … team was 10-3 his junior season … ended 2010 with 11 catches for 281 yards, a 25.5 yard average, and 23 TDs … was a first team All-Region choice at defensive back as a junior and senior, and earned second team All-Region honors at wide receiver both years … played in the North-South Senior All-Star Game this summer.
