Seth Hembree is in his second stint as an assistant coach on the Edinboro football team after previously being on the staff in 2013 as a volunteer assistant. One of four former Fighting Scots on the coaching staff, he rejoined the staff in 2016 and became a full-time staff member this season after previously serving on a part-time basis. He will work with the quarterbacks this season along with continuing to oversee the tight ends. Hembree will also serve as the Director of Alumni Relations/Alumni Engagement.

Hembree played tight end for the Fighting Scots from 2009 to 2012, earning three letters. He played in a total of 35 games, finishing with 19 receptions for 252 yards and 2 TDs. He was a member of the 2009 team which finished with a 9-4 record, reaching the Super Region One Semifinals and finishing the year ranked 24th by the AFCA. In addition, the 2010 and 2011 Edinboro editions finished with 7-4 records.

A native of Williamsport, Pa., he caught 9 passes for 157 yards in 2011, then added 9 catches for 85 yards and 2 TDs as a senior in 2012.  He played his high school football at Williamsport Area High School, where he was a starter both at tight end and defensive end.

Hembree graduated from Edinboro in 2013 with a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology. He completed work on his master’s degree from Edinboro in Educational Psychology in May 2018, and served as the graduate commencement speaker.  Earlier this spring, he completed the School Psychology Graduate program after receiving his Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology.

In addition to his coaching background, Hembree has worked as a foster care specialist at the Bair Foundation, along with serving as an assistant manager at Olympia Sports. He has also worked at The Achievement Center as a lead mental health worker, counselor, and in therapeutic staff support.

Hembree is single and resides in Edinboro, Pa.
