In Professional Baseball: Drafted in the 40th round of the 2007 major league baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers … played two seasons for the GCL Tigers of the Rookie League … played in 12 games in 2007, hitting .167 with five hits in 30 at bats … drove in two runs and had two doubles and a stolen base … in 2008 appeared in 30 games with 10 hits in 92 at bats for a .109 batting average … had six RBIs, with a double, a triple and three stolen bases … released by the Tigers on April 3, 2009.

High School: Three-year starter in football for head coach George Sneed at Tavares High School … as a senior was a third team Class 3A All-State selection at defensive back … also started three years in baseball.
