Was a three-year starter for head coach Aaron Cook at Marion Pleasant High School, joining former teammate Kyle Galyk … helped the Spartans go 10-0 during the regular season as a senior, reaching the regional semifinals … holds school records for single-game passing yards (481) and season passing yards with 2,015 in only 129 attempts … threw for seven touchdowns in a game … was also a standout in basketball, and was a two-time All-Ohio honoree in both football and basketball… was first team all-conference at quarterback as a junior, first team All-Central District as a senior, and third team All-Ohio … was also an all-district selection in both sports, and earned all-conference honors as a junior and senior in basketball … also named the District 11 Player of the Year … scored 1,047 points in three seasons in basketball, the fifth player in school history to reach 1,000 career points … averaged 16.7 ppg. as a junior and over 19 points as a senior … was also a three-year letterwinner in track & field.
