Abby Sotter is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach under head coach Dan Gierlak. The native of New Wilmington, Pa. played four seasons as a Fighting Scot, wrapping up her career two years ago.
Sotter served as a pitcher for the Fighting Scots, compiling a 4-5 record with a 5.62 ERA. She appeared in 35 games with 18 starts, tossing 98.1 innings. Her top season came in 2015 as a sophomore. She posted a 3-2 record with a 4.40 ERA. She struck out 28 in 35 innings. She struck out a career-high eight batters against Clarion (4/16/15), and earlier in the season tossed a shutout against Elizabeth City State, striking out six.
As a prepster at Wilmington High School, she set the school record for wins. She was a four-time District 10 Class AA Region 2 All-Section pick. In addition, she was was a District 10 Class AA Region 3 All-Section honoree in volleyball as a senior in 2012. She helped Greyhounds to a District 10 Class AA Championship in softball and volleyball as a freshman in 2010.
Sotter graduated from Edinboro in December 2017 with a bachelor of science degree in Secondary Education/English. She is currently working on her master’s degree in Education Leadership and Principal Certification.
