Kristin McDaniel is in her second year as a graduate assistant at Edinboro University.  She will serve as an assistant to head softball coach Dan Gierlak while working on her Master’s Degree in Special Education.

McDaniel played collegiately at Robert Morris from 2005-2009, and was a three-year starter at second base for the Colonials.  Her best season at the plate came as a senior in 2009.  She hit .254 with seven doubles, four home runs and 21 RBIs.  The year before she hit .227 with five doubles, three triples and 20 RBIs.  She was part of a 2006 Robert Morris team that finished as the Northeast Conference regular season co-champions.
           
An outstanding student, as well, McDaniel was named an All-American Scholar-Athlete in 2008-2009 and in the fall of 2009 she served as a softball undergraduate assistant.  In addition, she played on the 2008 U.S.A. Olympic Team in Bound for Beijing Tour.
           
McDaniel graduated from Robert Morris in December 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  A native of Yardley, Pa., she has served as a preschool teacher for ages four and five year olds at Yardley Kids Academy.
