Annie Rutledge joined the Edinboro Track & Field staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach ahead of the 2025–26 season.
A former student-athlete and emerging coach, Rutledge brings a strong foundation in team leadership, athlete development, and technical event understanding to the Fighting Scots program. She most recently graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, where she was a team captain and a six-time conference point scorer for the Hawks. During her time at Monmouth, she competed in multiple events throughout her career ranging from the multis, sprints, hurdles, and relays and was recognized with the Monmouth Athletics Leadership Award in 2024.
Rutledge has experience coaching youth athletes in a variety of settings. She served as a coaching intern at Asylum Sports Center, where she supported speed and agility training for youth athletes, and was an assistant coach at Monmouth University's Track & Field Summer Camp. In both roles, she provided individualized feedback and technique instruction across track and field disciplines including sprinting, jumping, and throwing. Her coaching philosophy centers around building athlete confidence, fostering team cohesion, and developing technically sound performance.
In addition to her athletic background, Rutledge is certified in multiple areas of athlete safety and performance through NFHS, including concussion awareness, mental health, and sports nutrition. She also served on the Monmouth Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where she helped advocate for athlete wellness and engagement initiatives.
A native of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Rutledge was a state and sectional champion in high school and continues to bring the same competitive spirit and attention to detail into her coaching career.
