Patricio Lugo (Homestead, Fla. / South Dade) won a 12-6 decision over West Virginia’s Christian Monserrat (13-10), leading Edinboro to 27-10 win over Mountaineers. Lugo won on the strength of three takedowns, and had a third-period reversal.  On Saturday, Edinboro faced No. 3 Iowa in the NWCA National Duals. Iowa won 28-9, but the biggest win of the night went to Lugo, who upset third-ranked and two-time All-American Brandon Sorensen, 7-5 in sudden victory. Lugo grabbed a 4-2 lead after one period with a pair of takedowns. The lone point in the second period was a Lugo escape. Sorenson accounted for all the scoring in the third period, with a quick escape and a tying takedown with just five seconds left to make it 5-5. Lugo would prevail 7-5 in sudden victory with the winning takedown with ten seconds remaining. Lugo improved to 27-7
