On Saturday, Edinboro's Jared Hallow came in first in the Doug Watts Open. On Monday, the redshirt junior became the first Edinboro cross country runner to be named the USTFCCCA Division II National Men's Athlete of the Week.

Hallow got the Clayton Foster Era off to a great start as he led Edinboro to a first place finish over five other PSAC squads, Edinboro, ranked 24th in the USTFCCCA Division II Preseason Top 25, finished with 23 points, while 10th-ranked Shippensburg had 44 points.

The native of Gerrardstown, WV covered the 8K Doug Watts Course in a time of 26:12. The Fighting Scots had five of the top eight finishers in the race.

Edinboro will return to action on Saturday, September 15, competing in the Allegheny College Classic.
