This week’s Fighting Scots Female Athlete of the Week is senior Samantha Blazetic (Eastlake, OH/Eastlake North). Samantha had a memorable week while helping the Fighting Scots to victories over No. 19 IUP (73-62) and Slippery Rock (72-59). Against IUP, Samantha tied her own school record for blocks in a game with eight. She also scored 18 points with six rebounds, three assists and two steals. The blocks moved her into third place all-time in PSAC history and the rebounds moved her over 700 for her career, making her just the eighth Edinboro player to score 1,000 points and haul in 700 rebounds. In the Slippery Rock win, she registered 20 points with seven rebounds and five more blocks. She was named PSAC West Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week on Jan. 28.
