CALIFORNIA, Pa. (Oct. 26, 2012) – The Edinboro volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at California(Pa.) in a PSAC match on Friday night, losing by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-8. The loss dropped Edinboro to 8-19 overall and 5-9 in the PSAC West, while Cal is now 23-5 and 11-5, respectively.
The loss came despite a 7-for-13 hitting performance by freshman
Megan Branchick. Unfortunately, the rest of the Fighting Scots finished with 13 kills in 77 attempts. The Cal defense was dominant, holding Edinboro (8-19, 5-9 PSAC) to a -.022 (20K, 22E, 90TA) hitting percentage for the match, including a -.308 (2K, 14E, 39TA) in the third and final set.
Haley Marett tallied eight digs and Branchick threw in two blocks for the Fighting Scot defense.
Katie Felix added nine assists and
Nicole Brunot finished with eight.
Edinboro travels to Indiana (Pa.) tomorrow for a 3 p.m. match against the Crimson Hawks.
