INDIANA, Pa. – The Edinboro women's swimming team opened the dual meet portion of its season with a 144-115 loss at Indiana(Pa.) on Saturday afternoon despite three first place finishes by Staci Schrecengost. The night before the Fighting Scots began the 2012-13 season in the Westminster Relays.
Schrecengost started out with a win in the 200-yard freestyle with a PSAC-qualifying time of 1:58.17. She also qualified for the PSAC's while winning the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.98) and 200-yard IM (2:14.93).
Alexis Berdine was a double winner, capturing the 100-yard backstroke with a PSAC time of 59.9. She swam a leg of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay along with
Mallory Waldinger,
Julie Moretti and
Katie Kelly. She added a second place showing and a PSAC-qualifying time in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.42).
Maria Tarbell had Edinboro's other win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.90, good enough to qualify for the PSAC's.
In all, Edinboro had eight PSAC-qualifying times. Other top performances included:
