Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. (Oct. 6, 2012) –  Edinboro swept visiting Cheyney 3-0 Saturday afternoon at McComb Fieldhouse.  The Fighting Scots used strong defense and high-percentage attacks on offense to down the visiting Wolves by scores of 25-6, 25-4 and 25-10. 
 
Edinboro (6-13, 4-4 PSAC West) finished set one on a 11-0 run to finish with a 25-6 win.  Set two saw Edinboro continue that run, racing out to a 9-0 lead before bringing home a 25-4 victory.  The Fighting Scots sealed the match in set three, finishing with a 25-10 win. 
 
Statistically, Edinboro had a solid day from all players, hitting .403 as a team.  Marah Maycock had ten kills and a .533 (10/15) hitting percentage, Breanna Gardner and Megan Branchick each had six kills, with Branchick hitting .667 (6/9).  Tabitha Meeks and Katie Felix each had five kills and Maria Concheck added four.  Erin Schatzle had 19 assists, two kills, two aces, and two digs while Felix added 12 assists and four aces.  Edinboro had 18 service aces on the day with a team-high five coming from Meeks.
 
Defensively, Edinboro had 14 digs registered by Haley Marett and seven by Maycock.  The Fighting Scots had no receiving errors and held Cheyney to just five offensive points the entire match. 
 
Edinboro returns at 3 p.m. today to face Kutztown at McComb.
