COMPLETE NCAA PREVIEW

EDINBORO, Pa. (March 18, 2008) – The target will be squarely on the back of Edinboro University's Gregor Gillespie when the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships begin on Thursday, March 20 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO.  Seeking to become Edinboro's first two-time national champion, the junior is the number one seed at 157 lbs.

Gillespie won the 149 lb. national championship a year ago, joining Sean O'Day and Josh Koscheck as Edinboro's lone Division I national champions.  He moved up to 157 lbs. this year and has posted a 32-2 record, with the losses to Illinois' Mike Poeta, who is seeded second, and Minnesota's C.P. Schlatter, who is the fifth seed.  Gillespie, a two-time All-American who finished seventh at 149 lbs. as a freshman, faces Spencer Manley of Navy in the first round.

While Edinboro qualified all ten wrestlers for the first time in school history, Jarrod King is the only other Fighting Scot to earn a seed.  The junior transfer from Oklahoma looks to join his brother Matt as an All-American.  King is seeded 12th at 165 lbs. and will face Penn State's Dave Rella in the first round.  King has a 30-7 record.
