Edinboro vs. Fairmont State Box Score

FAIRMONT, WV - The Edinboro Fighting Scots volleyball squad dropped a pair of games at the Falcon Fest volleyball tournament Saturday, losing to Seton Hill and the home-standing Fairmont State Fighting Falcons.  

Edinboro (0-4) battled the Seton Hill Griffons (3-1) this morning in the 10am game.  Edinboro was up early in the first set, but Seton Hill came back to secure a 25-22 set one victory.  The Griffons raced out to take sets two and three by scores of 25-14 and 25-16.  

Marah Maycock and Tabitha Meeks had seven kills apiece to pace the Fighting Scots offense.  Katie Felix added nine assists and eight digs and Erin Schatzle pitched in 13 assists for Edinboro.  

In the nightcap, Edinboro took on the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons (4-0), who were the hosts of the tournament.  The first set was back and forth, but Fairmont ultimately came out on top with a score of 25-23 and used that momentum to win the next two matches by scores of 25-21 and 25-14, finishing with a 3-0 sweep of the Fighting Scots.   

Maycock and Meeks were the offensive stars again, combining for 17 of the team's 32 kills in the match.  Libero Haley Marett had 16 digs to lead the defense for Edinboro.  Felix set up much of the offense with 15 assists and Schatzle added 13 helpers.

Edinboro travels to Indiana to compete in the Puma Classic Friday, September 7th and Saturday, September 8th.  They then return home to play Ursuline September 11th at 7pm.
