RENSAELLAER, IN – The Fighting Scots volleyball squad traveled to St. Joseph's University for the Puma Invitational tournament today.
The slow start has continued for the Edinboro volleyball squad as they search for their first win of the season. Edinboro (0-6) first faced the University of Illinois-Springfield (2-2) this afternoon and took a 3-1 loss to the hands of the Prairie Stars.
Marah Maycock continued her hot hand in game one with nine kills and eight digs.
Tabitha Meeks also notched nine kills and freshman middle-hitter
Megan Branchick tallied a career-high eight kills with a very impressive .429 kill/attempt average.
Katie Felix led Edinboro defensively with 12 digs and also added 15 assists.
Later in the day, Edinboro took on Winona State (6-2), but were unable to secure the victory.
Haley Marett tallied seven digs, Maycock added nine and one kill in the match. Meeks paced the offense with six kills and Branchick added five. Helping on those kills was
Erin Schatzle, who assisted on nine of them.
The Fighting Scots are up bright and early Saturday with a match against Walsh at 9am, followed by a match against Saginaw Valley State at 11am. They return home Tuesday, September 11
th to battle Ursuline with a start time slated for 7pm.
