The Edinboro volleyball team rounds out a three-game homestand against Daemen on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots enter this non-conference matchup with a 12-9 overall record, while the Wildcats sport an 8-8 mark on the season.
Edinboro comes into the contest after a loss in a five-set decision to Seton Hill last Saturday. The Fighting Scots captured victories in the first two games, but the Griffins topped Edinboro in the final three sets to earn the PSAC win.
The Fighting Scots look to snap a four-game losing streak against Daemen. The Wildcats currently hold a three-game losing streak of their own. Edinboro hopes to return to the win column for the first time since a five-game winning streak held from Sept. 27- Oct. 4.
Despite the Scots' recent struggles, they lead the PSAC in four major statistical categories. Edinboro paces all conference teams in kills (1038), assists (923), aces (143) and digs (1468).
Haley Marett leads all PSAC players with 464 digs on the season, while
Katie Felix ranks fourth in the conference with 655 assists.
Megan Branchick leads the Fighting Scot attack with 204 kills on the season, while
Maria Concheck paces Edinboro with 62 total blocks.
The Fighting Scots hold a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series over Daemen. Although the Wildcats defeated Edinboro in shutout fashion in last season's meeting, the Scots triumphed in all five contests from 2007-2011. Edinboro outscored Daemen by a total of 15-4 in those defeats.Â
