Fighting Scots Drop Pair of Matches in PSAC Crossover

(October 18, 2013) - The Edinboro volleyball team fell to Millersville and Lock Haven in a pair of PSAC Crossover matches held at Lock Haven on Friday, Oct. 18. Millersville topped the Fighting Scots by a score of 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 19-25, 19-25), before Edinboro was bested in the nightcap by host Lock Haven in straight sets, 3-0 (23-25, 13-25, 14-25).

The Fighting Scots used 12 first-set kills to earn a 25-21 victory over Millersville. The Marauders responded with three straight set triumphs of their own to capture the PSAC win.

Marah Maycock led the Edinboro attack with 11 kills, while Katie Felix posted a game-high 28 assists. Tabitha Meeks recorded 17 digs, followed by Haley Marett with 16.

In the second match, Lock Haven won their fourth-straight PSAC contest with a 3-0 win over the Fighting Scots. Nicole Brunot paced Edinboro with 13 assists and Haley Marett added 19 digs on the night.

The Fighting Scots fall to 13-11 overall and 5-6 in the PSAC with the losses. Millersville improves to 9-10 and 5-6 in conference play, while the Bald Eagles move to 15-8 and 6-5 in the PSAC.

Edinboro quickly returns to action as it travels to Pitt-Johnstown tomorrow for the ladder half of this PSAC Crossover. The Scots face the host Mountain Cats at 12:30 p.m., before taking on Shippensburg at 6 p.m.
