Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. (Oct. 5, 2013) - The Edinboro volleyball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end with a 3-1 (23-25, 15-25, 25-23, 22-25) loss to Mercyhurst on Saturday night at McComb Fieldhouse.
The defeat marks the first loss in PSAC play for the Fighting Scots, who move to 5-1 in the conference and 12-6 overall on the season. The Lakers improve to 11-5 on the year, with a 5-1 mark in the PSAC.
Edinboro dropped the first two sets, before posting 14 kills to capture a 25-23 victory in game three. Mercyhurst prevailed in the fourth set by a score of 25-22, sealing their fifth PSAC win of the season.
Megan Branchick paced the Edinboro attack with 12 kills, while
Katie Felix dished out 27 assists.
Haley Marett tallied 14 digs to lead the Fighting Scot defense, and
Maria Concheck added four block solos on the night.
Lexi Stefanov led the Lakers with 17 kills and four block assists. Kelly Vitt also added 30 assists for Mercyhurst.
The Fighting Scots travel to Slippery Rock on Tuesday, October 8. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. against the Rock.
