(November 8, 2013) – Seton Hill narrowly edged the Fighting Scot volleyball team in a five-game match, 3-2 (14-25, 25-23, 25-23, 13-25, 8-15) on Friday, November 8. Edinboro falls to 16-17 overall and 7-12 in PSAC action with the loss. The Griffins improve to 25-8 with a 13-6 mark in the conference.
After Seton Hill took the first set by a score of 25-14, the Fighting Scots posted 18 kills in both the second and third sets, respectively to gain a 2-1 advantage over Seton Hill. The Griffins responded by winning the final two games in decisive fashion to capture a 3-2 PSAC victory.
Megan Branchick led a trio of Fighting Scots with double-digit kills on the night with 18 marks.
Marah Maycock posted 14 kills followed by
Tabitha Meeks with 13.
Katie Felix recorded 43 assists to go along with 14 digs.
Haley Marett had a team-high 22 digs for the match, while
Maria Concheck had five block assists.
Shelby Kyllo paced Seton Hill with 17 kills and Courtney Field tabbed 43 assists. Lauren Teed also had a game-high 27 digs for the Griffins.
The Fighting Scots quickly return to action tomorrow when they travel to first-place California (Pa.). The game is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
