Edinboro Women’s Swimmers Top Bloomsburg, 135-127

Meet Results 

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (November 9, 2013) – The Edinboro women's swimming team remained unbeaten with a 135-127 defeat of Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Scots improve to 5-0 with the win, while Bloomsburg drops to 0-2 on the season.

Edinboro tabbed two relay and seven individual first-place finishes on the day.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Alexis Berdine, Holly Stein, Goezde Tekin, and Julie Moretti opened the meet with a first-place finish in the event with a time of 1:50.75 .

Berdine and Tekin led the Fighting Scots with two individual wins each to go along with their relay victory. Berdine captured the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.88 and the 50-yard freestyle at 25.06. Tekin paced the 200-yard butterfly with a mark of 2:08.33 as well as the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:11.20.

Stein paced the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.09. Moretti won the 100-yard freestyle with a mark of 54.50, and  Staci Schrecongost won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.90.  

The 200-yard freestyle relay tandem of Moretti, Julia Lockmyer, Katie Kelly, and Berdine tabbed a first-place finish with a time of 1:39.82 to seal the win for Edinboro.

The Fighting Scots return to action at the Wooster Invitational on December 5-7.
