Edinboro Now 5-3 after Losing Twice in Charleston(WV) Invitational

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 1 | Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 2 CHARLESTON, WV (Sept. 14, 2013) – The Edinboro volleyball team lost a pair of matches on Saturday at the University of Charleston(WV) Invitational, and after two weeks of competition is now 5-3.  The Fighting Scots fell in four games to Ohio Dominican in the morning, then lost in three games to host Charleston in the afternoon.

Ohio Dominican defeated Edinboro in four games last weekend in Clarion's Tony Banner Invitational, and did so again, as the Fighting Scots fell by scores of 25-23, 25-27, 25-21 and 25-22.  Tabitha Meeks paced the Scots with 16 kills, adding 24 digs.  Megan Branchick was the only other Fighting Scot in double figures with 10 kills.  Haley Marett had a team-high 26 digs.  Katie Felix totaled 47 assists and 11 digs, while Marah Maycock contributed 10 digs.

The Charleston match was tight despite the Scots losing in three games by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-23.  Maria Concheck and Meeks had 10 kills each.  Marett had 21 digs and Maycock 10, with Felix totaling 19 assists and Nicole Brunot 11.
