Last 10 Meetings: 7-3
EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team will look to snap a two-game skid in a PSAC Western Division matchup on Tuesday night at Slippery Rock. The Fighting Scots dropped a pair of conference contests against visiting local rivals Gannon and Mercyhurst this weekend, falling to 19-9 on the season and 10-7 in league play. Tuesday's match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from Morrow Fieldhouse in Slippery Rock, Pa.

The Fighting Scots, who have now lost three out of their last four contests after winning four matches in a row, now sit in sixth place in the PSAC Western Division standings with a 10-7 ledger. The top four teams from both the Eastern and Western Divisions qualify for the PSAC Championship Tournament. Edinboro has five matches remaining on its schedule, including three contests against teams ahead of the Fighting Scots in the standings in California (Pa.), Seton Hill and Clarion. Edinboro last qualified for the postseason during the 2011 campaign.

The Fighting Scots defeated Slippery Rock earlier this season by a score of 3-1 buoyed by freshmen Sydney Trathen and Challen Litwiler. The Rock won the first game 25-21, but Edinboro came back to capture the next three by scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-21. The victory was the 350th for head coach Missy Soboleski in her career. She now has a 357-307 career mark in her 18-year coaching career, including stints at Gannon and Mercyhurst.

Gruber paces Edinboro with 2.5 kills per set, followed by Marah Maycock and Tabitha Meeks with 2.35 and 2.25 kills per set, respectively. Trathen has dished out a team-high 7.23 assists per set, good for 11th in the PSAC. Concheck leads the Fighting Scots with 93 blocks and 0.93 blocks per set. Haley Marett sits third in the PSAC with 543 total digs and sixth in the league with 5.32 digs per set, while Challen Litwiler is third in the conference with a team-high 48 service aces.

Kristy Lake ranks fourth in the PSAC with 3.28 kills per set, while Leah Jones ranks seventh with 3.04 kills per set. Jones also ranks 14th in the conference with 3.93 digs per set.

After Tuesday, Edinboro wraps up its home portion of the 2014 schedule with a pair of PSAC Western Division matches this weekend against California (Pa.) and Seton Hill.
