The Game StoryEDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team will begin a nine-match home stand by hosting a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Crossover event on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11 at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots will take on PSAC Eastern Division foes Shippensburg at 11:30 a.m. and Millersville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, before facing off with Pitt-Johnstown at 10 a.m. and Lock Haven at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Local rival Mercyhurst will also compete in the event. Edinboro is coming off a 3-1 non-conference victory over Daemen on the road on Tuesday night. The Fighting Scots, who improved to 14-5 with the win, has now won 12 of their last 15 contests.Edinboro owns a 6-3 ledger in PSAC play, good for fifth in the Western Division standings. This includes a 4-0 record against PSAC Eastern Division opponents. The Fighting Scots swept competition at a PSAC Crossover weekend earlier this season, outscoring opponents 12-1 in those four defeats. Shippensburg is an even 9-9 and Millersville 9-8 on the season, while both teams show identical 3-6 PSAC records. Lock Haven sits alone atop the PSAC Eastern Division standings with a 6-3 mark in conference play and a 12-5 overall ledger. Pitt-Johnstown is not far behind with a 9-5 mark overall and a 5-4 PSAC record. Mercyhurst sits at 11-5 and 6-3 on the year.Jen Gruber paces the Edinboro attack with 164 kills and 2.52 kills per set on the season. Sydney Trathen leads the Fighting Scots and ranks ninth in the PSAC with 461 assists, while Haley Marett has tallied a team-high 333 digs, good for second in the conference.Challen Litwiler paces the PSAC with 38 service aces, seven more than any other player in the conference. Maria Concheck sits tied for fifth in the conference with 67 total blocks for the Fighting Scots.Following Saturday, Edinboro returns to action hosting Ursuline in its final non-conference matchup of the season on Wednesday, October 15 at 7 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.
