EDINBORO, Pa. –
Staci Schrecongost posted two first-place finishes to lead the Edinboro women's swimming team to a 123-82 victory over Tiffin in the Fighting Scots' home opener on Saturday at McComb Fieldhouse. Edinboro improved to 2-0 on the season in dual competition with the win.
Schrecongost finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a mark of 1:57.06 and in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.07.
Holly Stein was recognized at the meet for
garnering All-American honors last season.The relay team of
Morgan Joseph,
Holly Stein,
Breanna Purnell and Schrecongost recorded a first-place finish in the 200 yard medley relay with a mark of 1:51.21.
Mary Rosati finished first in the 1000 yard freestyle at 11:00.51, while
Holly Stein posted a first-place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a mark of 1:07.78.
The quartet of
Breanna Purnell,
Cheyenne Kressley,
Charlotte Drozda and
Megan Gaza closed the meet by pacing the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.98.
The Fighting Scots return to action next Saturday, November 8 at home against Bloomsburg. The meet is set to begin at 12 noon.
