The Game Story 
The Edinboro volleyball team will make the short trip up I-79 to Erie, Pa. to participate in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference/Mountain East Conference Crossover on Friday and Saturday. The event is hosted by Gannon University.
 
The Fighting Scots, who sport a 2-2 overall mark on the season, will take on Charleston (WV) at 1 p.m. and West Virginia State at 5 p.m. on Friday, before battling West Liberty at 10 a.m. and Notre Dame (OH) at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Edinboro comes into the PSAC/MEC Crossover following a 3-0 (21-25, 21-25, 20-25) road loss at Point Park on Tuesday, September 9.
 
The Fighting Scots opened the season last weekend at the Tony Banner Invitational hosted by Clarion University, posting a 2-1 mark to begin the season. Edinboro defeated Adelphi 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-22) on Friday, September 5 and improved to 2-0 with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-18) victory over Walsh (OH) on Saturday, September 6. The Fighting Scots suffered their first loss of the season when Wayne State edged Edinboro by a score of 3-2 (21-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 13-15) on Saturday afternoon.
 
Edinboro currently paces the PSAC with 14.5 digs per set, while also ranking fifth in the conference in blocks per set at 2.08 and fifth in service aces per set at 1.78.
 
Haley Marett paces the Fighting Scots and sits fourth in the PSAC with 74 total digs. The senior libero also ranks seventh in the conference with 4.93 digs per set.
 
Marah Maycock and Jen Gruber are tied for the team lead with 37 total kills on the season, while Maycock ranks tenth in the league with 3.08 kills per set.
 
Sydney Trathen leads Edinboro and sits eighth in the PSAC with 7.87 assists per set. The 5'9'' freshman set a career-high with 42 assists in the Scots' win over Walsh and has posted 118 total assists on the season.
 
Maria Concheck is tied for third in the conference and paces Edinboro with 17 total blocks and freshman Challen Litwiler leads the Fighting Scots with nine service aces.
 
Both Notre Dame (OH) and West Virginia State enter the PSAC/MEC Crossover with 2-2 records, Charleston (WV) comes in with a 1-4 record and West Liberty remains in search of its first victory of the season at 0-4.
 
Following the event this weekend, the Fighting Scots will host Notre Dame (OH) in their season opener on Tuesday, September 16 at 7 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.
