Fighting Scots Fall On Road to No. 23 West Chester 1-0

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) WEST CHESTER, Pa. (September 13, 2014) - The Edinboro women's soccer team lost to No. 23 West Chester on Saturday afternoon 1-0. The Golden Rams lone goal came during the middle of the second half and as they improved to 4-0-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the PSAC. Edinboro drop to 0-3-1 overall and in the PSAC.

Each team only had one shot on net in the first 20 minutes of the second half. West Chester earned a corner kick during the 66th minute. Lexi Lentz connected with Carly Yost for Yost's team-leading third goal this season on the corner.

Less than a minute later Scots forward Alex Brown had a shot on net go high. Edinboro put two more shots on net but were unable to capitalize.

Edinboro had to play with only 10 players in the final two minutes after Mary Kate Zahorchak received a red card.

Scots goalie Meghan Kelly started and made four saves in net.

Alex Srolis started for West Chester in net and had her third consecutive shutout while making four saves.

The Fighting Scots winless start through four games has only happened one other time in school history. In 1996, the program's inaugural season, lost the first four games of the season before defeating Thiel 7-2.

Edinboro play Millersville on Monday, September 15. The afternoon meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. The Marauders enter the match 1-2-0 overall and in conference play.
