Box Score (New/Sortable Format) MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (September 15, 2014) - The Edinboro women's soccer team lost another close affair on the road Monday afternoon dropping a 1-0 match to Millersville. The Marauders scored the lone goal of the game just over two minutes into the contest to improve to 2-2-0 overall and in the PSAC. The Fighting Scots are now 0-4-1 overall and in conference.
Millersville's game-winning goal came off a cross into the box from Megan Kelley that Hallie Parker finished at the 2:23 mark. It was Parker's second goal of the season.
Edinboro had a number of chances throughout the game. The Fighting Scots delivered a flurry of shots on Millersville goalkeeper Olivia Webber but were unable to find the back of the net. The Fighting Scots finished with 12 shots on net to the Marauders five.
Liz Debo paced the way with four shots on goal.
The Scots have now been shutout in three consecutive matches, the first time that has happened in the regular season since the middle of the 2008 season. Edinboro was shutout in its final three games last season, two of those games being in the postseason. The program has never gone four consecutive matches without scoring a goal.
This marks the first time Edinboro has played five matches to begin a season and not won at least one game.
Edinboro will now return to Sox Harrison Stadium for a home contest against a popular foe from last season in Shippensburg on Saturday, September 20. The Fighting Scots and Raiders played three times last season including Shippensburg winning 4-3 in penalty kicks in the PSAC Playoffs last season and a 1-0 victory by the Raiders in the NCAA Atlantic Regional at Slippery Rock. That match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
