(September 9, 2014) – The Edinboro volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to Point Park by a score of 3-0 (21-25, 21-25, 20-25) on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh, Pa. The visiting Fighting Scots fell to 2-2 on the season with the loss, while the Pioneers boosted their overall record to 7-6.
 
Marah Maycock and Sydney Trathen paced the Fighting Scot attack with six kills apiece. Maycock also added four digs, while Trathen contributed 11 digs and a team-high 15 assists on the night.
 
Katie Felix recorded six assists, 12 digs and three aces, and Haley Marett led Edinboro with 15 digs.
 
Point Park avenged a loss to the host Fighting Scots last season, when Edinboro rallied after trailing 2-0 to earn a thrilling 3-2 non-conference victory.

The Fighting Scots return to action this Friday, September 12 at the PSAC/Mountain East Conference Crossover hosted by Gannon University. Edinboro takes on Charleston (WV) at 1 p.m. and West Virginia State at 5 p.m. on Friday, before battling West Liberty at 10 a.m. and Notre Dame (OH) at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Erie, Pa.
