Edinboro Hosts California (Pa.) in First Round of PSAC Playoffs

#1 Edinboro Fighting Scots (30-5, 18-4 PSAC) vs. #4 California(Pa.) Vulcans (16-16, 14-8 PSAC)
Tuesday, November 17
McComb Fieldhouse
Edinboro, Pa.
7:00 p.m.

GAME STORY
The top-seeded Edinboro University volleyball team makes it's first PSAC post-season appearance since 2011 after a stellar regular season that saw many milestones. Head Coach Missy Soboleski earned her 250th career victory at Edinboro as her Fighting Scots won 30 games for the first time since 2010 and only the sixth time in program history. This is the first time that Edinboro has been the top-seed in the PSAC Western Division since the 1997 team won the PSAC Championship as the number one seed.

Edinboro earned the top seed in the Western Division despite battling several injuries. Jen Gruber, the teams kill leader from 2014, missed a majority of the season with an injury, while fellow junior Latoya Hutchinson missed some games late in the season with a nagging injury.

California (Pa.) enters the PSAC playoffs treading in familiar territory. The Vulcans won the PSAC Championship last year as the number four seed in the West to capture their second title in four years. The Vulcans began the 2015 season a disappointing 8-16 before winning eight straight contests to clinch the number four seed.

Tuesday's playoff contest will serve as the rubber match between the two teams as they split the season series 1-1 with both teams winning at home.
