The first game was delayed by rain for almost two hours.  When it finally started Edinboro was one out away from claiming the opener only to see Clarion push across three runs in the top of the seventh and rally for the win. Lenart dominated in the second game, striking out 13 Golden Eagles and allowing just one earned run. The nightcap was called after six innings due to darkness.

Edinboro will play its fourth doubleheader in four days on Friday, hosting Seton Hill. That is scheduled to get underway at 2:30 p.m.

GAME 1: Clarion 4, Edinboro 2
Abby Sotter took a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning, and retired the first two batters on a strikeout and popout. Unfortunately, Christina Tressler tied the game with a home run to left center and the Golden Eagles followed with a double, single and another double to push across two more runs.

Theresa Fleckenstein gave Edinboro a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Niagara University transfer hit her fourth home run of the season to drive in Brooke Callaghan, who had singled.

Clarion would cut the margin in half in the top of the sixth inning without the benefit of a hit. Three Edinboro errors accounted for a run. The Fighting Scots had a chance to extend the lead in the bottom of the inning. Shelby Proctor opened the inning with a double and moved to third on a ground out. She was doubled up on Callaghan's hard liner to shortstop.

Sotter (1-2) tossed an outstanding game but was saddled with the loss. She went 6 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out eight. Laura Crooks and Callaghan paced the offense with two hits apiece.

GAME 2: Edinboro 6, Clarion 2 (6 innings)
The Golden Eagles opened up a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning thanks to a pair of Edinboro errors. The Fighting Scots came back with a run in the first inning as Crooks extended her hitting streak to ten games with a leadoff single and eventually scored on a Fleckenstein base hit.

Edinboro took a 3-2 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second, assisted by a pair of Clarion errors. The Scots made it 4-2 in the fourth as Heather Tighe hit a leadoff triple and scored on a wild pitch. Edinboro would score a pair of insurance runs in the sixth with two out. MaryLouise Lindner plated one run with a triple and Crooks' single through the right side scored Lindner.

Lenart scattered five hits while improving to 4-2. She walked a pair while striking out 13. Crooks and Tighe had two hits apiece, with Tighe scoring three times.
