CLARION, Pa. – The Edinboro women's swimming team opened the season with a win on Saturday at Clarion. The Fighting Scots edged the Golden Eagles, 110-108, for their fourth straight win over Clarion.
Edinboro picked up wins in seven different events, with four swimmers picking up a pair of first-place finishes. The Fighting Scots won both the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay.
Morgan Joseph,
Holly Stein,
Breanna Purnell, and
Kaitlyn Daiger combined to win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.33.
Katelyn Kopacko,
Casey Tokarski, Joseph, and
Anastasiia Semkiv posted a winning time of 1:41.82 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Stein added a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.98, while Kopacko touched first in the 50-yard freestyle at 25.42. Purnell won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.89.
In addition to the double winners,
Mary Rosati took home first place in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.49) and
Yana Miletska won the 200-yard IM (2:15.07).
Edinboro is back in action next weekend, competing in the Westminster Relays on Friday, October 21, and at Indiana(Pa.) on Saturday, October 22.
