Women's Swimming Team Spoils Gannon's Senior Day with 105-100 Victory on Saturday Afternoon

ERIE, Pa. - The Edinboro University women's swimming team posted five first place finishes on Saturday afternoon as they defeated local rival Gannon in a dual meet, 105-100. The Fighting Scots improved to an even 3-3 on the year while the Lady Knights fell to 1-6.

The quartet of Morgan Joseph, Holly Stein, Breanna Purnell and Katelyn Kopacko got things started for the Fighting Scots posting a victory in the days first event. The group posted a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.90.

Mary Rosati followed up the relay win with a victory of her own in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Rosati posted a time of 18:48.91. Kopacko recorded her second victory of the day in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.09.

Yana Miletska posted a first place finish in the 200-yard IM, finishing with a time of 2:14.75 while Stein recorded the final victory of the day for the Fighting Scots in the 100-yard backstroke. Stein posted a winning time of 1:07.60.

The Fighting Scots return to the water on Friday, January 27 one final time before the PSAC Championships when they host Clarion for a dual meet. Friday's contest will serve as senior day for the Fighting Scots as they honor four departing seniors.
