Sydney Trathen recorded her PSAC leading third triple-double of the season as the Edinboro volleyball team fell in their fifth straight five-set match to Pitt-Johnstown in the semifinals of the PSAC Tournament, 3-2. The Fighting Scots, who are ranked 10
th in the most recent Atlantic Region poll, will await to see if the NCAA selects them for the National Tournament.
The first set went back and forth. Edinboro held a two-point lead at 11-9 before the Mountain Cats even things 14-14. Pitt-Johnstown was forced to take a time out after the Fighting Scots even things once again at 22-22. The Mountain Cats were able to claim the final two points to take the set and the 1-0 lead in the match.
The second set saw Edinboro take the 10-7 lead early in the set. Pitt-Johnstown was forced to take a timeout halfway through the set with the Fighting Scots leading 17-13. The Mountain Cats would score the first two points out to pull within two, and even the score at 19-19. A kill by freshman
Cierah Jackson out of a timeout started a 6-3 run for Edinboro as the Fighting Scots even the match at 1-1. The Fighting Scots hit .366 with 19 kills.
A 6-1 run shortly after the third set started saw the Fighting Scots jump out to a -5 lead with kills by freshman

Paige Morris and Jackson forced the Mountain Cats to take the second time out of the set with the Fighting Scots leading 16-8. Edinboro had 16 kills with only three errors in the set for a .338 attack percentage.
The Mountain Cats jumped out to a 4-1 before Edinboro used a 6—3 run to even things at 7-7. The Fighting Scots took their first time out of the set with Pitt-Johnstown leading 10-7. The Mountains would hold on for the 25-21 set win and sending the first semi-final to a deciding set. It marked the fifth match in a row that the Fighting Scots would play five sets. The Fighting Scots defeated top-seeded Indiana(Pa.) in the quarterfinals 17-15.
Edinboro won the captains toss and elected to serve to start the fifth. Points went back and forth in the early stages of the set with the score tied at 3-3. With the score tied up at 6-6, the Mountain Cats scored three straight points as Edinboro used its first timeout of the set. Pitt-Johnstown.

Challen Litwiler and Morris had 13, 12 and 11 kills respectively. Trathen recorded her triple-double with 10 kills, 47 assists and 12 digs. Litwiler had a match-high 24 digs to lead the Fighting Scots. Morris led at the net recording three blocks.
