EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2017 season with a 22-5 to West Chester on Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium. The Golden Rams came in tied for 12th in the latest IWLCA Division II National Rankings. The loss ended Edinboro's season at 12-15 overall and 0-12 in the PSAC. West Chester moves on to the PSAC Tournament with a 12-4 overall mark and 9-3 in the PSAC.
While the final score may have been disappointing, it still turned out to be a big day for five Fighting Scots who made their final appearance in the red and white.

Haleigh Wright were honored in pre-game ceremonies. All are seniors with the exception of Skinner, the Edinboro goalkeeper who will graduate in three years.

The day featured Peters setting the single-season record for goals with her 49th, breaking the record previously held by Shannon Rohrich. The tying goal came with 6:39 to play, and with just 53 seconds remaining in her playing career, her shot from the right side went past WCU goalkeeper Carly Shoup for the record goal. Peters finished her career with a school record 133 goals, and ranks third in career points with 156.
West Chester jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the first seven-plus minutes before
Mary Uplinger scored her seventh goal of the season on a free position shot. The Golden Rams would build as 12-2 lead at the half, with Peters accounting for the other Edinboro goal in the half.
West Chester ended the half with the final five goals, and started the second half with seven goals to for a 19-2 lead before
Stephanie Chido ended the string of 12 straight wins with her 10th goal of the season at the 10:08 mark.
Peters scored her 48th goal of the season with 6:39 to play to tie Rohrich's season mark, and then broke the mark with her 49th with just under a minute to play.
Peters was the lone multiple goal scorer for Edinboro with three goals. Ashley Pyle had four goals and four assists to lead West Chester, with Tara Morrissey also scoring four times and Dina Cifelli accounting for three goals and three assists.
West Chester held a 33-13 advantage in shots. Skinner registered seven saves to break her own record for saves in a season with 170. Nicole Martins had three saves while playing the first half in goal for West Chester, and Shaup also had three saves while playing the second half.
